I would like to use the TTY emulator in HTPE to access my friend’s TTY machine (TDD)
. How can I do this?
HyperTerminal supports the standard TTY emulator based on a seven-bit code called ASCII or an eight-bit code called extended ASCII. Almost all TTY machines for the deaf use the Baudot standard, which being 5-bit, is incompatible with ASCII. Our software will not convert ASCII to Baudot to make a successful connection. A Baudot/ASCII TTY modem is necessary to do the conversion. You may be able to use HyperTerminal if the TTY has an ASCII option.
